One day, a father took his son out for a dinner and talked about the future. Surely they are not talking about politics and economy and things that can make the world crash! It’s just something easy and practical to do and yet only 3% of the people in this world can do. “It can make you a very successful person” he said to his son. With that, he pulled his list of objectives from his pocket and showed them to him.
Try this for instance. Walk up to100 people on a city street and say something such as “Pardon me, would you mind telling me exactly what are you doing here?”. 90% of them would have to answer “Well, I don’t know. I haven’t really given it that much thought”.
Before we can even start a journey, we must have the objective, where we want to go. It must be from point A to point B or C or D or even Z. Life also need an objective. It’s a guide at least for you to start and live your life the way you want it to be. Every living person needs something to satisfy them.
So, how do you plan your objective? My suggestion, write it down. It’s an art to write such objective. Why? Because writing it down simply shows what you really, really want and you are ready to put your mind, body and soul into it.
An objective has two precise format. First it must include an action verb; any verb with a “to” in front of it – to do, to have, to become, etc. Secondly, it must have a time frame. Example, “To generate $500 from forex in one month”. Without a time frame, it’s just a wishful thinking.
Once you have written down your objective, you should support it with goal. Your goal must be in short term, a long term and it must be realistic. It should be clear to you on how exactly you want to achieve your objective.
Now the best part is you need to photocopy the objective and goal sheet to 21 copies. My purpose is to get you in the habit of looking at your objective every day. Research shows that if I can get you to do it for 21 consecutive days, it will become a lifetime habit. And what a difference it will make in your life.
