As the name suggest, blog originated from the word weblog, or simply an online personal journal. My friends called it online diary.
Now, while this is what you and me used to think about blog, blogging has provide a new way for business and individual to establish their authority in the their respective niche. Blog has proved to be one of the most powerful marketing tool this decade.
For business and individual, blog has provide more transparent communication between them and their readers in their niche. It really shows who they are, what they are doing everyday and what is exactly the products and services they are offering. With this, it has created a viral recognition between people in the same niche thus increasing the profits at the same time.
Old ways
In the traditional method of marketing, for example, the TV, the audience has to be interrupted (I would even say force) just to show the advertisement of products and services on TV. These advertisements itself can make an hour drama to be cut short more than 20minutes!
New marketing
The new method of marketing has totally changed the way marketer meets customer. Because of this reason, you have to establish your authority in your niche through blogging. You have to become a subject matter expert in your niche. And when you do, your customers are the one who’s going to look for you, ask for your advice, hints, insights and everything they want to know.
And you my friend, will become the hottest asset on your niche.
Having a goal
So, how can you establish your authority? First, your blog must have a goal. A definite goal. It’s well known that every blogger wants to make money on the internet. Some have gone through the hard way, but for some, it’s like living in a dream.
Your definite goal must include not only engaging, but also helping others in every possible way to the road of success. It may take months or even years, but its worth the journey.
Gain credibility
Next, before you gain the authority, you must gain the credibility. If you can delay the temptation of monetizing your blog, and focus on the content itself, you will establish credibility and long term thrust at much faster pace.
When you help enough people to achieve success, you are on the right track to establish your authority.

You know, I should have advertise this event earlier on my post. But because of my busy schedule, I only managed to update you AFTER my event.
For that, I’m sorry.
The Internet Marketing Seminar was actually a part a 3 day program named Bengkel Komuniti Digital Melaka organized by K-Economy Division Melaka.
Day 1: Facebook – Nasrul Amri, the writer of RAHSIA PEMASARAN FACEBOOK, which was the best selling book at MPH.
Day 2: Blog – Mohd Rahshidi, the owner of mrshidi.com and happened to be my friend. He too will have his book released by this year.
Day 3: Internet Marketing – ME. A full time blogger, a Forex trader, an Enterpreneur and a Dreamer. 
More than 300 people came for this event and gave us support all the way. Thanks a million thanks!
My special guest was Syukor Hashim from Jutawanemas.com and he delivered a 30 minutes, eye opening presentation on conquering your niche. Thanks to Syukor for making it there.

I was told that its going to be monthly basis event, and I hope it is. Melaka is still a fresh market especially on topics like making money on the internet and work at home. When we apply the Pareto rules, we should see the results pouring in.

To be successful in an online business, you need to believe. It’s important to understand that buliding an online business is not just the matter of creating a website, or a blog. You have to treat an online business the same as other offline job.
I like to share my 5 easy steps on how to start an online business. It may sound familiar but I try my best to make it simpler. A friend of mine said he doesn’t understand anything when he read my blog! hehe..sorry man. My fault.
1. Set your initial goal. Whether you want to generate $100 per day or $1000 per day, the first step is to set a goal for yourself. Often times you will find it most effective to set short term and long term goals. This will allow you to obtain small successes while still recognizing the big picture as to where you want to go. Those who become successful within Internet Marketing, or any business, have set goals and persevere until they achieve these goals.
2. Research and Select a niche product to promote. heard it before? Yes, and you’re going to hear it again,again and again. Do your research prior to selecting a niche to promote. Often time’s people get way over their heads before they have a solid understanding of how they are going to make money within a niche.
3. Find profitable keywords. You will need to research keywords and the average CPC over an industry before you begin promoting it. Some industries have thousands of keywords, while some are so specific that only have a handful of keywords. A smaller industry can convert just as well as a large one, so don’t be fooled by industries with keywords and low traffic.
4. Find high ROI affiliate programs. The last research step is to find suitable affiliates merchants within the industry that you want to promote. There are many affiliate networks that have thousands of affiliate programs across different industries. Register yourself in Clickbank, Commision Junction or even linkshare.com. I’ll talk about Clickbank later on.
5. Start an advertising campaign. Once you find a product that you want to sell, you’ll want to create an Advertising program for it. I suggest promoting the product using Google Adwords or Yahoo! Marketing as these are the highest converting PPC engines available.
Once you get all things in order, you can’t find yourself in the wrong side of the road again.

Starting a blog is simple. Find yourself a domain name, a reliable and affordable hosting services and if you choose Wordpress, select and activate your theme.
The hardest part is finding the niche. Take shufaad.com for an example. In the first place, my intention was to blog on anything and everything that I like. Soon after, I learned that this is not the right way to do it.
And yes, I did have another blog that talks on a different niche, which is Forex but I hardly updated it.
The question remains, where can I find ideas on what topic to write? The simplest way is to blog on the things that you love most; example you can blog about cats, electric guitars, watches and other hobbies. It may not sound that commercial, but it works for some.
The keyword here is NICHE RESEARCH. Yes, go and do some research first and then decide what you are going to do with it. Mind if I share some of the top sites that can spark your ideas?
- Amazon Best Sellers – its an absolute fantastic source of niche ideas. With 30 categories been splitting into sub categories, you can easily find the best selling products here.My personal choice would be the electronic gadgets!
- Ebay Hot Item Report – It is a monthly updated report that list the top areas by category; the ebay guys called it pulse . It can help to jump start your online business in a second. Don’t get yourself selling something that has no demand.
- My all time favorite, Squidoo Top Lenses! – yes, I love Squidoo. My first time internet marketing experience, I learn it through Squidoo. Simple layout, no need for any domain, various niche to choose from and it’s my personal recommendation to beginners.

This question may pop-up instantly whenever you want to start using Adwords. Identifying your advertising goals are very important in order to maximize your investment in Adwords. 
With these goals already set in your mind, you can work strategically to achieve your underline objectives, review your performance and modify it from time to time.
Examples of goals are such:
- Do you want to get more clicks? Try focus on keywords and placements.
- Do you want to increase your clickthrough rate? (CTR). Focus more on your ad quality. Refine your ads and choose highly targeted keywords and placements.
- Do you want to improve your return of investment? (ROI). Your ads need to attract the right audience. Focus on your website. Make sure your audience can find anything on your ads at the site.

Some says free stuff are not always good, but if you are a beginner and doesn’t want to invest in premium template, I would say a free would do.
My preference? Well..let me see. Zac’s First Landing Page looks cool and Cash Revelations looks clean.
But I can’t open the revvenue.com. Maybe they have remove the links. Well, its free after all.
