10 Football Greats who have been, and still are called LEGENDS!

The world will holds one of the best event in the universe next year and next year is just around the corner!. And what a way to start writing after a long Christmas break than to talk about football.
I remember my first football fever..it was the 1994 World Cup Final between Brazil and Italy. Roberto Baggio missed the penalty!!! What a shame!! Even my grandma can spot that on (she’s dead now). 
….
Today, I’m a big fan of the game. And majority of the players are legends now. They are contributing to their respective nations in every way they could. They are living legends that tells history and story about courage, determination, integrity and every positive aspects of self development.
These group of players start from nothing and earn with everything that a sportsmen dream of. They are legends in their niche and role model for generations.
We should at least learn something from them.
So, here’s my top 10 football greats:
- Pele – The King of Football. He was born for football in the same way that Beethoven was born for music. Hia combination of energy, dedication, style and arrogance continue to stun a still growing army of fans. He called football “The Beautiful Game”.
- Jurgen Klinsmann – His nickname, “The Golden Bomber” derives from his blonde hair and predatory goal scoring istinct.
- Luis Figo – He stun the world thanks to his deft stop and go dribling and playmaking flair. He is the leader of Portugal’s Golden Generation.
- Maradona – Best known for his Number 10 shirt, cocaine, the Hands Of God and untimately his unfathomable football skills.
- Roberto Baggio – The Divine Ponytail proved to be one of the most influential and exicting players in the world with his blend of skills, technique and fitness. Unfortuntely he is remembered for his infamously penalty in the 1994 World Cup final. Even I still remember it!!
- Gordon Banks – The 6 foot Yorkshire man would wow the crowds, weekend after weekend, with his ape like athleticism and his uncanny ability to fly across his goal mouth. He was a goalkeeper after all.
- Frankz Beckenbauer – Dubbed the Football Kaiser, he went on to become one of the best sweepers the world has ever seen. He became the first person to win the World Cup as a captain and as a manager in 1974.
- Sir Bobby Charlton – The most famous Englishmen of his age; the Beatles in Socks. He survived the Munich Air Disaster of 1958 to become the most recognizable face of legendary Manchester United and England squads. He’s a technically superb player and a true gentleman.
- George Best – Some say he was better than Pele and Maradona. But his off the field antics that make most of the headlines. The genius of George Best is unquestionable; he was a prolific goal scorer and was almost untouchable.
- Zinedine Zidane – My personal favourite. According to the UEFA Golden Jubilee Poll in 2004, Zizou is the greatest European footballer for the past 50 years. No doubt about it. His accolades are countless, his talents are immeasureable, his legendary status is undeniable, his wealth is record breaking and his name actually means ‘an overabundance of talent’. Remember the 2006 Finals? He is the BEST!
